The 2021 IPEP HSN Student-run Workshop is a fun practical workshop giving you the opportunity to be exposed to some of the unique skills that healthcare providers use to deliver their branch of healthcare. The theme this year will be '𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴'.

With the growing ageing population, we hope to optimise patient outcomes through providing interdisciplinary healthcare! As ageing conditions can be multi-faceted and complex, collaboration between disciplines is important to ensure that patient needs are met. By learning skills from other health disciplines, we hope to increase awareness of each other's role in patient care and foster a mutual appreciation of the unique skills that each profession brings!

Everyone will rotate around to different stations so you get a taster of what these disciplines can do. Disciplines include Medicine, Physiotherapy, Dentistry, Nursing, Audiology, Speech Pathology, Optometry, Public Health and Psychology.

There will be SIX stations this year:

IPEP Seminar
Aged Care in Australia: Past, Present, Future

Aged Care.jpg

1.3 million people currently receive Aged Care services - a figure growing quickly with the ageing population. Are health services and practitioners able to continue to provide optimal care for its older community?

IPEP is excited to announce our annual seminar “Aged Care in Australia: Past, Present and Future”. Aged Care has long been a topic of significant consideration and concern. Unfortunately, many of these problems have been compounded by sweeping COVID-19 outbreaks across residential aged care facilities.

Despite being fraught with challenges, there are many unique opportunities for current, and future health professionals to enhance care for older persons. Many of these include improving access to and upskilling in multidisciplinary care services.

We are honoured to invite two passionate clinicians to provide their unique insights into Australian aged care. Both have worked extensively with many branches of the multifaceted team in providing holistic, personalized care and have insights into how we can provide better care in the future.

Both speakers have also worked in the frontlines of the aged care facility outbreaks, and have been interviewed by The Age and ABC 7.30 report!

Join us and learn about the exciting opportunities to engage in this dynamic field.

Event recording can be found here.
